Inspiration Point gives you a miraculous view of the mighty Mississippi River. It is only a 30 minute drive from Carbondale, IL and is perfect for view sunsets and sunrises. Only a short hike away from the parking lot lies an outcrop that you can stand on. I would not suggest hiking this trail after a rain. The steep inclines become impossible when muddy.
